I decided to turn these images into a Talk Frank campaign as they do not show much of a story other than that of someone taking drugs. I felt Talk Frank was a suitable because my images focused on a portrayal of drugs and Talk Frank offers advice on those who want to experiment
with drugs. This was one of my least drastic acting as more of advertisement for Talk Frank rather than a campaign against drug and its negative outcomes.
with drugs. This was one of my least drastic acting as more of advertisement for Talk Frank rather than a campaign against drug and its negative outcomes.
The images are focused on objects rather than models even though they all feature a model. I used a very close up shoot to create these images. I did this to ensure that the main focal point was the drugs being presented in the image rather than encouraging the use of or experimentation with drugs.
The main visual elements in the image are a grimy coloured background and table which I felt helped to create an unappealing feel for what drugs look like. This gives a sense of negativity being associated rather than a glamorisation of harmful substances. I felt the bold black logo and text draws in the attention of the viewer and they are always the first part of the image that I see and focus on. This then provides reasoning for the drugs presented in the image.
The editing effects I chose were don’t to create strong contrasts, I wanted the colours to be very bold and have a roughness in its visual texture. Due to the close up camera shot I experimented more with angles moving around more than usually while taking the images, I felt this allowed different viewing perspectives.
I did consider changing the colouring of my image to black and white but felt that the grubby look of the image may be lost and so decided against the idea keeping the colour thus also keeping the reality of the images.
